"The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe
I chose one line from the poem "Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter, In there stepped a stately Raven of the saintly days of yore." I chose this poem as it has lots of descriptors that can give you a sense of the surroundings and makes it easier to find something to sketch. Any time I read part of this poem I usually envision a raven with mysterious mist and some of the things described in the poem.
Week 3 step 2. Two similar concepts (one with a reference used) both consisting of the crow sitting in frame as the main object of interest.
Week 4 step 3. pencil sketch soon to be painted with acrylics or watercolor.
Week 5 step 4. I lined the drawing with a black marker and added the major color layout. I also decided to change the spot the quote will be displayed on the artwork.
